Construction update

Humming and heat

For those of you following the drama, the dehumidifiers went in last week. The sound is equivalent to a bus engine idling continuously outside our window, and the machines put out a lot of heat, so no worries about us freezing as we descend into fall with a plastic wall and unsealed windows.

This week, we expect construction on the kitchen — the building company failed to repair the kitchen lights and stovetop fan at our landlords’ request while they were living here. We have asked for these to be fixed now that our apartment has been cut in half and we will be getting no natural light and have lost our “exhaust” out the back windows.

I mean really, who needs a bedroom that smells of stirfry and burnt fish?

Sounds awful! At what point do your landlords pay for a hotel for you??

It does look like a nice apartment though. So maybe someday you’ll actually get to enjoy it!
